WC’s James Storey Named to OHSAA Central District Athletic Board
Storey Looks Forward to Representing WC and all of Central Ohio Athletics
Congratulations to James Storey on his appointment to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Central District Athletic Board (CDAB).
“All my life, I have enjoyed athletics. I played pretty much every sport possible when I was younger and then decided to focus on basketball and track in high school at Big Walnut,” Coach Storey said. “After my playing days were over, I wanted to coach and find different ways to help kids learn how to compete, work hard, and have fun through sports.”
The CDAB of the OHSAA is responsible for organizing and conducting high school boys and girls sectional and district tournaments. District Board members are elected to six-year terms by a vote of the high school principals of the member schools in the Central District. James will be filling the 7th & 8th-grade representative seat and looks forward to serving Central Ohio student-athletes in this new role and hopes to help the CDAB enhance the player experience.
Storey has worn several hats at WC since he was hired in 2012. This school year will mark James’ twelfth year teaching seventh-grade math at Worthington Christian. James has previously served as the Middle School Athletic Director at WC for ten years, a basketball coach for eleven years, and track coach for ten years at WC. James met his wife, WC alumna Jill (Rickly) Storey (WC ’08), when they were attending the student ministry, Cru, at The Ohio State University. They have been married for eleven years, the same number of years Jill has served as the Assistant Director and Teacher at Leap of Faith Dance Company in Westerville.
Join us in congratulating Coach Storey on his appointment!
