Kyle Smith (WC ’18) returns to WC as Coach

Middle School Track | Kyle Smith

WC is excited to welcome Kyle Smith (WC ’18) back to the Warrior Track Program as the Middle School Track Coach. Coach Smith is a proud alum of WC and was a three-sport athlete as a Warrior, participating in soccer, basketball, and track.

At WC, Smith was named the Conference Player of the Year in soccer for 2017 and track for 2018. Smith, his twin brother Luke, Jake Bertelson, and Jordan Jackson also won two OHSAA state championship titles in the 4x800m relay in 2017 and 2018.

Transitioning to the collegiate level, Kyle continued as a two-sport athlete in soccer and track. He was part of the NCCAA 1st All-Tournament Team in 2020, won the NCCAA 800m National Title in 2021, earned the prestigious CoSIDA Academic All-American award in 2022, and was a seven-time NAIA Track & Field All-American.

Coach Smith’s early years were framed by a Christian upbringing guided by loving, God-honoring parents. He accepted Christ as Lord of his life when he was very young and has dedicated his life to honoring Christ in every pursuit.

Before returning to WC, Smith coached the Reading High School boys’ soccer team in Cincinnati, OH. Coach Smith says, “My primary coaching goal is to instill a genuine love for sport in athletes while challenging them to become the best versions of themselves, athletically, academically, and spiritually, both on and off the field.”
