Spiritual formation is the ongoing work of God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—shaping a student’s life to be more like Jesus. This transformation happens through the Holy Spirit, within a caring community that encourages growth in faith and living out God’s Word.

Lower School

In our Lower School, spiritual formation begins by integrating faith into daily life through weekly chapels that include time for both teaching and worship. We also use natural environments like lunch, recess, and classroom interactions as opportunities to build relationships with students, creating meaningful moments for spiritual growth and guidance.

Grades K-2

For our youngest Warriors, we want them to understand that Jesus loves them and Worthington Christian loves them. We also want to introduce them to the basics of the gospel, laying a foundation for their growing understanding of God’s love and the good news of Jesus.

3rd-6th Grade

As students progress through the Lower School and can understand the larger concepts of salvation and spirituality, Jesus’ love becomes more personal as we guide them through acceptance of all of his gifts to us. We aim for students to take ownership of their faith, embrace God’s love, and live out the truth of who they are in Christ.

Upper School

In our Upper School, students are encouraged to take more leadership in their spiritual journey through weekly student-led chapel, missional opportunities, and service projects. In addition, ongoing faculty-led small group Bible studies help foster a culture of discipleship that focuses on life-on-life mentorship, where students and mentors mutually pursue Christ together.

7th-8th Grade

Middle school students are encouraged to continue taking ownership of their faith within the context of a supportive community. At this stage we introduce and develop key spiritual disciplines, such as personal Bible reading, prayer, and service, helping students grow deeper in their relationship with God.

High School

As students mature in life and their faith, we drive them to apply the knowledge they’ve gained about God in practical ways. Spiritual formation takes on the new roles of solidifying students’ faith, remaining steadfast in their walk with God, and continuing to grow and trust Him as they navigate the complexities and challenges of the world around them.

WC Graduates

Spreading Christ’s Truth and Grace

As students graduate from Worthington Christian and gain newfound independence, our vision is that grads become a multiplying force who actively live out their faith and share the love of Christ with others. Our ultimate goal is for students to be God’s light, making a lasting impact on the World by reflecting God’s truth, grace, and hope in all they do.
