Worthington Christian welcomes Kristin MacCaughey as a Counselor in the Upper School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University in Mass Communication and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. Kristin previously served as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor at Arbor Counseling. She and her husband, Joel, are parents to Isla (9), Claire (7), and August (4), and their family attends Vineyard Columbus.

We ask all of our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Kristin!

What is something that someone might be surprised to find out about you?
I enjoy running and have run in six marathons, including the Boston Marathon in 2012, the year there was a terrorist attack.

What was the first job you ever had?
I worked Panera as a teenager. I loved their coffee and bagels!

Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
Mr. McCort was my AP US History teacher. I loved being challenged in his class and he was a very engaging lecturer.

Who has the best pizza in Columbus?
Tied for Mikey’s Late Night Slice and Jet’s

What is your most used emoji?

If you had to delete all but three apps on your phone, which ones would you keep?
Instacart, Wall Street Journal, Waze

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Done is better than perfect.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
I am always encouraged by the Sermon on the Mount, really any part of it or its entirety. I also love Philippians, especially chapters 3 and 4, with Paul’s encouragement to remain steadfast and not be anxious.
