Worthington Christian welcomes Katie Langenderfer as a Geometry teacher in the Upper School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University in Middle School Childhood Education, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton. Katie comes to WC, having previously served in Westerville City Schools. She and her husband are parents to four children. They attend Story Presbyterian Church .

We asked all of our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Katie!

What is something someone might be surprised to find out about you?
I enjoy crochet, and have a small side business selling products to family and friends.

What is the first job you ever had?
Folding t-shirts for a screen printing company.

What is your favorite family tradition?
We always go to my in-laws lake house in Michigan for the 4th of July and watch fireworks from a pontoon boat.

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Carbonara with extra bacon! I also love homemade chicken enchiladas.

If you could quickly learn any new skill, what would it be?
Play the piano. I have always wanted to play an instrument, but was always in choir.

Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
I had so many amazing teachers, but I had a few math teachers who changed how I viewed math, and gave me confidence in the subject. Shout out to Ms. Palumbo in 6th grade and Mr. Holt in 7th grade!

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Remember to reflect God’s faithfulness in your life as it will help you when you feel lost or unsure.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
John 15:5
