Home » All-School News » Staff Spotlight » New Faculty and Staff: Brianna Akers

Worthington Christian welcomes Brianna Akers as an Administrative Assistant in the Lower School 3-6 building. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University. Brianna comes to WC, having previously served as a stay-at-home mom for eight years, and serving in Corporate Retail Design before that. She and her husband have a daughter (3rd) and a son (K), and they attend Adventure Church.

We asked our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Brianna!

What is something people might be surprised to find out about you?
I have a random talent for finding four-leaf clovers; they just jump out at me! I have a small collection at my house.

What is your favorite family tradition?
We go to Lakeside and Olgebay every year. My kids also love our Christmas tradition of having a candlelight dinner the week of Christmas.

If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
To be a speed reader. I usually fall asleep after a few pages, and I wish I could read more books!

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
My mom’s chicken paprikash, city chicken, and beef stroganoff.

What is your most used emoji?
I use the face-palm, crazy face, and laughing face emojis the most.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Most recently, the Alabama song “I’m in a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why)”. It has been a good reminder to slow down and simplify things.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Psalm 37:4
