Worthington Christian welcomes Anne Shaw as an English Teacher in the Upper School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Geneva College and a Master’s Degree in English Education from The Ohio State University. Anne comes to WC, having previously served at Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy. She and her husband, John, have five children, and they attend Grace Presbyterian Church, where John serves as a pastor.

We asked all of our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Anne!

What is something people might be surprised to find out about you?
I have never read Lord of the Rings.

What is the first job you ever had?
Camp counselor in the Catskills.

What is your favorite family tradition?
Friday night pizza and movie night!

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Pot roast with potatoes and carrots.

What is your most used emoji? What emoji confuses you the most?
I use the laughing face emoji the most. The most confusing emoji is the blank face with two eyes only.

Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
My favorite teacher was Ms. Lynn, my 5th and 6th grade teacher. I loved her class because we had the freedom to choose books we liked, and my love of reading exploded.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Hebrews 12:1-2
