Give the Gift of Play and Help Us Reach Our Goal

APRIL 17 UPDATE:

We have reached $72,549.33, which is nearly half way to our $150,000 goal. Keep up the good work, Warriors!

march 5 Update:

We have hit the $50,000 mark and have secured a pig for Ms. Griffith and Ms. Herren to Kiss! Stay tuned for that event coming up later this week. In the meantime, thank you to Ms. Elifritz for bringing Lil Fritz out of retirement to sing a rap announcing the upcoming pig kissing! You can see the complete rap HERE. Keep going WC!

January 30 Update:

In addition to our students eagerly giving to the penny drive, we have been encouraged by the generosity of our WC community, which has helped us reach the $33,000 mark of our $150,000 goal we are seeking by March 15.

The students are especially eager as we near the $50,000 mark when Ms. Griffith and Ms. Herren will kiss a pig! 🐷

Original January 9 Post

We are excited to announce that the K-2 playground is getting a facelift! While we have enjoyed the equipment and swings that were installed in in 2021, our K-2 enrollment has increased by nearly 40% since moving into the current K-2 facility!

We have been assessing the need for some additional equipment and upgrades with student, parent, and staff feedback and have a design in place that utilizes the existing space and equipment, while adding a few additional elements to provide an enhanced playtime experience for our growing school.

It is our hope to make these updates this year over Spring Break, with a fundraising goal of $150,000 by March 15.

You can read the detailed letter with additional information, research, and planning sent by Dr. Hayes to our Lower School families before Winter Break HERE.

We are excited to include our Lower School students in this endeavor as well. To generate more excitement and ownership of the project from our students, we will be featuring some special fundraising milestone celebrations that will include school leaders kissing a pig, working from the roof, and being slimed by the kids. It has been such an encouragement to see so many students excitedly arrive to class with a baggie full of change to contribute to the project.

While these donations from our students are deeply meaningful, we need your help in getting us to our goal. If you are interested in donating any amount, you can do so in the following ways:

  • Mail a check with “K-2 Playground” in the memo line to Polly Shoemaker at 6675 Worthington Galena Rd., Worthington, OH 43085. You can reach Polly with questions at 614.410.4231.
  • Click on the button below to give online. Be sure to select “K-2 Playground” in the dropdown box to direct your gift.
