Recognition given for exemplary service to Worthington Christian.

The Fund for Academic Excellence (formerly the PTF Endowment Fund) established the Trustee Awards in 2018 to recognize exceptional service to Worthington Christian. The honor is bestowed annually on an individual who serves in the classroom, while the second award is for an individual making a difference outside of it. The 2023 Trustee Awards were presented on May 2 to Robin Hooper and Jim Parrish, respectively. Each received a cash award made possible because of the generosity of donors to the Fund.

Hooper, who came to WC in 1993, teaches second grade and has positively influenced hundreds of students’ lives. Hooper is known for helping students discover and develop their God-given abilities and refusing to let boys and girls quit on themselves when challenged and frustrated.

Parrish, who is stepping away from WC at the end of the school year, has been a teacher, elementary principal, assistant head of school, and interim head of school during his 23-year tenure. Parrish has worked behind the scenes this school year, assisting the Head of School, Dr. Mike Hayes. Parrish’s time at WC will be marked by faithful service, godly mentorship, and a contagious love for Jesus.

Join us in congratulating Miss Hooper and Mr. Parrish.
