DAVIS NAMED HEAD COACH FOR GIRLS BASKETBALL
Davis hopes to build on Coach Jason Dawson’s success.
After a historic run for the girls’ basketball team, Coach Jason Dawson (WC ’06) stepped down to pursue an opportunity to work with NBA prospects in North Carolina. We have been praying that God would bring the right person to lead the Lady Warriors basketball program. We are excited and grateful to announce that our prayers have been answered. Aaron Davis has been hired to be our next coach.
Coach Davis has been around the program coaching youth teams and training players for the past couple of years. He watched several of our games this year as well. He has various coaching and training experiences in addition to his time playing in both high school and college. Aaron went to Western Brown High School in Cincinnati. He played four years in high school and then went to Shawnee State University, redshirting one year and then having a successful four-year career before graduating in 2008.
While Coach Davis has a strong knowledge of the game, what really stands out is his love for the LORD. He will soon be an elder at his church and openly talks about his faith and Jesus. Aaron and his wife Amy have four children: Aurie, Aiden, Ali, and Abby. One of Amy’s roles away from home is she serves as the FCA coordinator at Westerville Central High School. She will be actively involved in the program supporting Aaron and the girls.
Please join us in welcoming Coach Davis and his entire family to the WC community.
