ALUMNI SWEETHEARTS: BRADY AND CASSIDY BEALS

High school sweethearts met in WC English class.

Since it’s the month of love, we thought it would be fun to catch up with a few high school sweethearts. First up, Brady and Cassidy (Herbst) Beals (WC ’09).

How many years have you been married? Six years (Anniversary June 14, 2014)

When did you first meet? Eighth grade first period English class. Brady was a “lifer,” and Cassidy transferred to WC in eighth grade.

When was your first date? It depends on who you ask! Winter Event junior year (January 2008). Officially started dating in February 2008.

What do you know about God now that you didn’t know before you were married? Everything testifies about Christ the more you look. Are we willing to look? We’re learning to be actively looking for God at work in our lives and give Him the glory. Having been together for almost half our lives, it’s been fun being able to look back and see all the God moments.

What advice would you give those hoping to marry one day? Be faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12) and about everything, not just marriage. “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”Romans 8:26-27 God knows our hearts. Talk to Him about every trial and praise you face. Prayer helps tune our hearts to give Him the glory in all situations.
