New Faculty and Staff: Janelle Dethloff (WC ’06)
Worthington Christian welcomes Janelle Dethloff, LISW-S, CCTP, (WC ’06) as a School Counselor for grades 4-8. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and Photography from Indiana University and a Master’s Degree in social work from The Ohio State University. Janelle comes to WC having previously served as a school-based Behavioral Health Therapist for Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She and her husband, Steve, have a son, and their family attends and serves at Vineyard Columbus.
We asked our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Janelle!
What was the first job you ever had?
I worked at JOANN Fabrics as a cashier and clerk in the craft department.
What is your favorite family tradition?
Our family beach vacation. We have had lots of fun and made many memories of going to Oak Island, NC. I hope to keep the tradition going with the next generation.
Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
Ms. Larson, my 4th grade teacher. She made me feel seen and known.
If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
Ballet or Modern Dance.
What is your most used emoji? What emoji confuses you the most?
I use the heart emoji most. The high-five emoji confuses me… is it a high-five? A field goal? Raise the roof? lol
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Cultivate the present.
