Worthington Christian welcomes Doug Troutner as a Math and Physics teacher in the Upper School. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in math education from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s in Education from Ohio State University. Doug previously served at Kilbourne High School. He and his wife have three adult children, one of whom lives in Tokyo. Doug and his wife attend Grace Fellowship in Upper Arlington.

We asked all of our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Doug!

What is something someone might be surprised to find out about you?
I love to play disc golf (although I’m not exceptional at it.) I also coached the 2014 State Championship Girls Lacrosse Team.

What is the first job you ever had?
Delivering newspapers.

If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
I have been trying to learn Japanese for the past two years.

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Lasagna and garlic bread.

What is your most used emoji?
I love the smiley face with sunglasses; nothing else compares.

What makes a “good day” at school?
Any day when I see the look on a student’s face when they begin to understand a concept.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Do what you love, and you will love what you do.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Philippians 4:11-13
