Dr. Hayes Featured on Be a Baller Podcast
WC’s Head of School Reflects on Servant Leadership and the Impact of Christian Education
Head of School, Dr. Mike Hayes, sat down for a chat with Coach Tim Brown on his “Be a Baller” podcast. Dr. Hayes shares about growing up in the small town of Sydney, Ohio, and how those foundational principles infused his life’s work, the importance of “team” over “me,” and the transformative power of sports and mentorship.
Dr. Hayes shares his spiritual journey and what led him to the calling of Christian education. Dr. Hayes and Coach Brown discuss the simple yet impactful ways of affirming students’ value—be it attending extracurricular events or offering a listening ear. The pair discuss the biblical idea of abiding with one another and the importance that concept plays in forming and maintaining relationships amidst the messiness of life.
Coach Brown’s podcast is uniquely tied to Worthington Christian, as almost all its 50 episodes have been recorded in our WC Studio at the Upper School campus! Our Worthington Christian Video Production Class, which is in its fourth semester, records the podcast and helps with the post-production editing. It is one of the great ways our Media Center Director, David Stoll, provides an experiential learning opportunity to students.
We hope you take a moment to listen to Dr. Hayes’ episode and more from the “Be a Baller” podcast.
