The former Columbus Independence coach is excited about his new role.
Former Columbus Independence High School Boys Varsity Basketball Coach Quintin T. Aden, Jr. is taking the reins of the Worthington Christian School’s Boys’ Basketball program. Aden coached for four seasons at Columbus Independence, and his team steadily won more games each season, capped off by the 2022-23 team finishing 14-8.
Aden graduated from Heidelberg University, in Tiffin, Ohio, with a degree in Sports Management. He was a men’s basketball team member and served as team captain.
Aden began his coaching career at Harvest Preparatory School, where he held the positions of JV Head Basketball Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach. Aden is All-Ohio Red AAU Basketball’s Assistant Coordinator and Midwest Talent Recruiter. He has also coached teams for All-Ohio Red and the Hidden Gems AAU Basketball organization.
Aden is the Physical Education and Health teacher at Yorktown Middle School. He is married to Sydney, and they have two children, Qinsley (4) and Jonas (2). Aden and his family attend One Church in Gahanna, Ohio.
When asked about his coaching philosophy, Quintin states, “I believe in creating an environment where my players feel empowered to challenge themselves on and off the court. I want my players to understand that the discipline and skills they learn in sports are essential in their basketball journey and as they grow as Christian men in their adult lives.”
